Open-source Software Vs. Proprietary Software

Have you ever found yourself staring at the computer screen real intently reading the words “please enter product key”? It probably needs a license for the continuation of the game. Read this article to know the differences between open-source software and proprietary software.
Open-source software (OSS) is a computer software that is available free of cost. It can be modified by anyone at any time. It comes with certain conditions, i.e., if a developer modifies the code, he has to share the updated version of the software openly. Good Open Source Desktop Publishing Software

Have you ever been locked out of a software because the trial period expired? With our list of open source alternatives for desktop publishing, you can pursue your creative efforts with renewed vigor.
Desktop publishing was an unknown industry 30 years back. Whenever companies needed a design, they would hire artists who would composite a rough sketch and get the owner’s approval, and then work on the final layout. Design was expensive, so the design stayed the same decades later. The proprietors of desktop publishing companies ruled the kingdom with glee, as they provided exclusive output to posters, logos, and AD agencies.

But with the advent of technology, anybody with a desktop and a creative sense could get into this industry. But demand and supply go hand in hand. Software companies decided to be stingy, and saved the best features for their paid versions, and included a trial version for those who needed to see it and not use it on a daily basis. We present to you a list of the best open source desktop publishing applications available today. With this, you can run a small business without digging deep into your pockets.

Best Apple Watch charging stands

Whether you want one for your bedside table, desk or somewhere else, a charger stand is going to be a worthwhile investment to go with your shiny new Apple Watch smartwatch. Not only will it charge the battery while you sleep, it’ll also be a great way of having it on display.

The supplied Apple Watch charger is neat but a little fiddly so having a nice stand is going to make your life much easier. Most of the third-party charger stands simply have a hole cut for the official magnetic charger (above) to sit in rather than having the functionality built-in.

Is Apple’s stylus a serious option for illustrators? We find out.

With Apple set to launch the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in November, we thought it was high time we took the new hardware for a road-test on some of the best iPad apps and let you know what we thought.

Happily, this week Adobe was showing off its new drawing apps for iPad in a very exclusive session at its annual event in LA, Adobe Max. So we got to be among the first journalists in the world to try out their new Creative Cloud software on Apple’s new kit.

At the event in Los Angeles, we took the Apple Pencil and the iPad Pro for a spin with the latest versions of Adobe’s mobile apps Photoshop Sketch and Illustrator Draw. These apps have all been updated to take full advantage of Apple’s new hardware.

Our verdict? Well, we’re as surprised as you… but we have to report this was the most natural stylus experience we’ve ever experienced.
